How this site works
Privacy Policy
What this website collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it. This is a site that publishes articles — it is not a clinic, and it holds no patient records.
In plain words. You can read every page on this website without telling us who you are. There is no login, no contact form, no booking and no comment section, so there is nothing for you to fill in and nothing for us to store about you.
Two things do happen automatically: our hosting provider keeps normal server logs, and Google Analytics records anonymous statistics about which pages are read. If you email us, we obviously have your email. That is the whole of it.
1. Who is responsible for this website
physiotherapistindia.com is the professional and academic platform of Dr Dharam Pandey and is funded personally by him. He is the data controller for the purposes of this policy.
Questions about privacy, or any request described in section 7, should go to info@physiotherapistindia.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
This website is not a clinical service. It publishes educational material. It does not take bookings, does not hold medical records, and has never asked a reader for health information. If you are a patient of any clinic or hospital, your clinical records are held by that provider under its own policies — not by this website.
2. What we collect
The honest answer is: very little, and almost none of it deliberately.
| What | Why it exists | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Server logs IP address, browser and device type, page requested, date and time, referring page |
Generated automatically by the web server for every website. Used to keep the site running, diagnose faults and identify attacks. | Our hosting provider and Dr Pandey. |
| Google Analytics 4 property G-FTT4N03HEF, loaded through Google Tag Manager GT-K828QK3 |
Aggregate statistics: which pages are read, for how long, roughly where readers are, and which are useful enough to keep writing. This is what tells us professionals read the clinical pages. | Google, as our analytics processor, and Dr Pandey. |
| Email you send us | Answering you. Corrections reported under our corrections policy are kept as a record of what was changed and why. | Dr Pandey and the editorial team. |
What we do not collect
- No accounts, logins or profiles. There is nothing to register for.
- No contact forms. There is no form of any kind on this website. Email is the only route to us, and it is your choice to use it.
- No health information. We never ask about your condition, symptoms or treatment, and you should not send clinical details to us by email.
- No payments. Nothing is sold here, so no financial details are handled.
- No comments or user submissions.
- No advertising networks, no advertising cookies, no sponsored content and no paid links. Nothing on this site is placed by a third party who paid for it.
- We do not sell, rent or trade any data to anyone, for any purpose.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell one visit from another and to recognise a returning reader. These are analytics cookies. They do not identify you by name, and we do not attempt to link them to any individual.
WordPress and Elementor, which build the pages, may store small technical values in your browser so that pages display correctly. These are not used to track you.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and this website will continue to work normally — nothing on it depends on them. You can also install Google's own opt-out browser add-on, which stops Google Analytics collecting anything from you across every website that uses it.
4. Why we are allowed to do this
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and — for readers in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area — the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, we rely on the following grounds:
- Legitimate interests for server logs: keeping the website available, secure and working. This is a narrow and expected use, and it does not override your interests.
- Consent for analytics cookies, where the law of your country requires it. If you have not consented, or you have opted out by the means in section 3, you can browse the entire site regardless.
- Legitimate interests for replying to an email you chose to send us, and for keeping a record of published corrections.
5. Who else is involved
We use a small number of external services, and each sees only what it needs to:
- Our web hosting provider — stores the website and its server logs.
- Google (Analytics and Tag Manager) — processes the usage statistics described above. Google may process this outside India, including in the United States, under its own terms.
Links out to other websites — including PubMed, journal publishers and guideline bodies — take you to sites the Physiotherapist India Team does not control and which have their own privacy policies. Following one of them passes no information about you from this website, and nothing comes back.
Disclosure. Dr Dharam Pandey is founder and Chairman & Managing Director of APARC Health and Motion. That is a direct commercial interest, declared in full in the conflict of interest disclosure. Physiotherapist India does not refer readers to it, and it has no access to anything collected by this website.
6. How long we keep things
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Server logs | The retention period operated by our hosting provider, typically a matter of weeks, after which they are overwritten. |
| Google Analytics data | Retained under the setting configured in the Analytics property, then deleted by Google. Aggregate reports contain no identifiers. |
| Email correspondence | As long as needed to deal with your message. Correspondence that results in a published correction is kept as part of our editorial record. |
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy;
- ask us to correct anything inaccurate;
- ask us to delete it;
- withdraw consent for analytics, at any time, without giving a reason;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity, under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023;
- complain to the relevant supervisory authority if you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request.
Write to info@physiotherapistindia.com and tell us what you want. In practice, because we hold so little, most requests are answered simply by explaining what section 2 already sets out.
8. Security
The website is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and this site is encrypted. Access to the website's administration is restricted to those who maintain it. No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say that plainly than promise otherwise — but the practical protection here is that there is very little worth stealing, because we hold almost nothing about you.
9. Children
This website publishes professional and educational material and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we add anything that changes what is collected — a form, a newsletter, a search box that logs queries — this page will be updated before that goes live, and the date below will change. We will not quietly broaden what we collect and update the policy afterwards.
